PR & Communication Intern


As the PR & Communication Intern you will support the execution of press releases, maintain Hardt social media channels and you will be expected to update the various platforms such as the website, the newsletter, the Hardt Magazine and Medium articles. You will ensure that these platforms remain up-to-date by creating relevant content that matches the operational objectives of the company. In addition, you will be contributing to the organization and coordination of events organized by Hardt and external events to which Hardt contributes.

You will be part of the marketing team, responsible for the execution of various milestones that make an important contribution to Stakeholder Engagement. Like any startup, the work-load grows faster than the resources available and this leads to many projects running at the same time. This requires a certain degree of flexibility and willingness to take on responsibility. If you are looking for an internship with a lot of creative freedom, varying routine, and project-based work, this is the job for you.


As our PR & Communications Intern, your responsibilities will include:

  • Writing and coordinating press releases and publications
  • Maintenance of social media channels
  • Creation of relevant media content
  • Helping with the organization and coordination of events
  • Creating content for different platforms (Medium articles, Hardt magazine, Website)

What we like to see

  • You study HBO/WO education in the field of Communication, Marketing or Journalism and you are in your third year of studies (as least)
  • Experience in drawing up creative PR plans
  • Experience with project management
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe CC (at least Photoshop & Indesign)
  • Minimum 1-year experience in creating content for social media channels
  • Excellent communication skills both Dutch and English language (written and verbal)
  • Basic skills for website development & maintenance (Knowledge of code will be seen as a plus)
  • Experience in organizing and coordinating medium-sized events
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, to be assertive and manage multiple priorities
  • Passion for technology/ innovation/ improving the world
  • A level of professionalism/presentability while dealing with external service providers and partners

Application Process

Apply: Send your resume and motivation letter (max. one A4 page) using the form above, note: we only accept applications in English. You are encouraged to add another file containing more information about your experience.

First phone call: We will invite you for a quick 30 minute phone or Skype call where we will ask you a few personal questions to determine your team-fit and motivation.

First meeting: We will invite you to our office so we can meet in person and ask you a few questions to see what role you could play. For this, 60-minute part no extra material preparation is needed.

Interview: We will ask you to carry out a series of short assignments on the spot, to evaluate your competence and way of working and lay out your previous experience in a short presentation. The interview takes up to 2-3 hours, and we like to carry it out in person, although remote interviews are possible too.

Contract proposal: If you are qualified, we will make you a job offer.
