Finance & Legal Specialist

Hardt is currently looking for a finance and legal specialist with great analytical skills and eye for detail. As our finance and legal specialist, you will be the head of all activities related to the finances of the company. You will report directly to the management. Next to finance your tasks will include drafting and interpreting legal documents such as employment contracts and commercial agreements. Expect a healthy mix between financial operations and reporting, legal/compliance, and financial administration.  

Responsibilities

As our Finance & Legal Specialist your responsibilities will include:

  • Monthly reporting of financials to management team and shareholders/investors.
  • Managing financial processes such as invoicing, employee reimbursements, and general financial administration.
  • Executing and assisting the salary payment process.
  • Submitting tax return statements (BTW-belasting) and wage tax return (aangifte loonheffingen).
  • Assist and manage the procurement process for larger expenses.
  • Set-up and administrate reporting for various subsidies.
  • Managing work permit applications and applications for the 30% facility for foreign employees.
  • Drafting employee agreements and managing the employee database.  
  • Assisting with providing draft versions of commercial agreements and being the first point of contact with the legal department.  

What we like to see

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience related to the position.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, or accountancy, with a strong affinity for the legal field.
  • Knowledge of corporate finance, Dutch accounting and tax laws.
  • Demonstrated ability in your field of expertise and willingness to make a difference.
  • Strong work ethic and drive to be the best.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch — both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomous, and demanding atmosphere.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, be assertive and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a challenging work environment.
  • Exceptional teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for analytics and forecasting.
  • Exceptional presentation and reporting skills.
  • Experience with applications in the field of finance such as Snelstart, or Exact.
  • Structured way of working and an eye for details.
  • Experience with drafting and interpreting legal documents.
  • Availability to work extended hours and weekends when required.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office.

Application Process

First phone call: We will invite you for a quick 30 minute phone or Skype call where we will ask you a few personal questions to determine your team-fit and motivation.

First meeting: We will invite you to our office so we can meet in person and ask you a few questions to see what role you could play. For this, 60-minute part no extra material preparation is needed.

Interview: We will ask you to carry out a series of short assignments on the spot, to evaluate your competence and way of working and lay out your previous experience in a short presentation. The interview takes up to 2-3 hours, and we like to carry it out in person, although remote interviews are possible too.

Contract proposal: If you are qualified, we will make you a job offer.
