What you will do

The European Hyperloop Center’s (EHC) mission is to support the Hyperloop development in Europe through the realization of the EHC. This will be done by promoting, supporting and connecting research, educational, business and development institutes. By connecting with each other through the Hyperloop development program we would like to lay the foundation for a new generation of mobility in the future.

Structure/Board

The initial board of the EHC will consist of 2 members, an independent chairman and Hardt. The task of the initial board is to mobilize the EHC Foundation, appoint the director and appoint a permanent board to  realize the EHC. The initial board can also appoint an Advisory Board. An Advisory Board only becomes active once the permanent management has been appointed.

The director is appointed by the board and will be accountable to this board. The Director will appoint a professional team skilled and responsible for the development of the EHC.

Responsibilities

The new director of the EHC should be a firm, charismatic leader who will take the lead in achieving the EHC's ambitious goals in a stimulating and decisive manner. He/she will keep a close eye on the interests of all the various stakeholders and understand the commercial aspects and impact when making decisions.

He/she will develop the EHC organization in a collaborative way and structure long lasting networks with relationships within this ecosystem. A strong emphasis on fundraising is required in order to ensure longevity of this organization.

Under the leadership of this new director, this organization should be able to carry out all activities necessary for the realization of the formulated objectives and ambitions of the board, by:

  • Raising funds
  • Connecting people, companies, governments and knowledge institutions
  • Obtaining the necessary permits

In addition, the director is responsible for determining the annual plan, the budget and approval of the annual report, as well as the structure and management of the fund.

  • Education at an academic level and knowledge and affinity of innovative systems
  • Extensive demonstrableexperience with fundraising
  • An effective network builder, as well as being able to use the existing board members networks effectively
  • Charismatic and professional with management experience
  •  To be able to deploy and utilize the organizational process assets to effectively manage the people
  • Motivate your team through teambuilding activities
  •  Innovative, creative, goal driven and  ambitious.
  •  Strategist with a commercial mindset
  •  Being able to use social media and/or other forms of new media platforms
  •  International experience, especially knowledge of Anglo-Saxon Model markets is an advantage
  • Solid network in the northern provences of the Netherlands with strong relations in the Groninger region. Should be well connected with the government in the region, like. The Provence and Municipal of Groningen
  • Preferably living in the region, hence, understanding local dynamics, opportunities and challenges and capable of influencing directly related parties

Conditions:

  • Part-time in the beginning phase of the development of this organization, starting with 8- 16 hours per week
  • Start date, preferably 1st of July 2020
  • Salary: € 30.000, - gross annually based on 16 hours week

Application Process

Apply: Send your resume and motivation letter (max. one A4 page) using the form above, note: we only accept applications in English. You are encouraged to add another file containing more information about your experience.

First phone call: We will invite you for a quick 30 minute phone or Skype call where we will ask you a few personal questions to determine your team-fit and motivation.

First meeting: We will invite you to our office so we can meet in person and ask you a few questions to see what role you could play. For this, 60-minute part no extra material preparation is needed.

Interview*: We will ask you to carry out a series of short assignments on the spot, to evaluate your competence and way of working and lay out your previous experience in a short presentation. The interview takes up to 2-3 hours, and we like to carry it out in person, although remote interviews are possible too.
